If you’d like to spend a little more constructed time over your glass I offer courses of 4 x 2hour sessions, daytime or evening. Fusing or stained glass are on offer.
Fusing Long Course
If you’d like to get to know fusing glass a bit better and develop your creativity over a period of time I offer four week courses. They run for 2 hours each week and can be daytime or evening on consecutive weeks. Variable start dates.
I can accommodate one or two guests at a time in my studio. I will fire your pieces after the session ready for you to collect or work on by the next session. At the end of the course you will need to return to collect your final piece after firing.
Level 1 – Beginners
1 | Making coasters. Introduction to glass. Learn how to handle glass, score and break it. |
2 | Make a scrap dish. Score and break circles, use mosaic nippers. Introduction to glass powder |
3 | Window hangers. Use of copper and fibre paper punched shapes within the glass |
4 | Curves. Design your own artwork on an S or C shaped curve |
Level 2 – Not quite beginners
Choose four from the following options (Writing and Glass Clay are both two week projects):
1 | Extension of Level 1 | Develop beginner’s ideas to create more pieces |
2 | Frit | Introduction to other forms of glass |
3 | Kiln carving | Create your own design to be slumped with transparent glass |
4 | Enamels | Explore stencils, painting and balloons! |
5 | Christmas | Christmas trees or other decorations |
6 | Writing 1 | Create your own font mould and fill with frit. |
7 | Writing 2 | Completion of Writing 1. |
8 | Glass clay 1 | Create glass clay and cut / shape / create. |
9 | Glass clay 2 | Use the pieces you made last week to create a piece of art |
Stained Glass Long Course
If you’d like to make a panel or mirror for your home then my four week course is ideal. The course run for 2 hours each week and can be daytime or evening on consecutive weeks. Variable start dates.
I can accommodate one or two guests at a time in my studio and will store your glass safely between sessions.
This is suitable for beginners as you will be taught all of the techniques required to produce a piece of art. The finished piece can be any size up to 20cm x 20cm.
